چکیده

This paper presents an ultra-wideband (UWB) low noise amplifier (LNA) consuming 2.2-mW core dc power for 6-8.5GHz wireless applications. A common-gate input stage is cascaded with a common-source second stage to perform input impedance matching and wideband stagger-tuning amplification, while the current-reuse topology minimizes the dc power dissipation. The design method used to achieve flat-gain response is presented. A detailed analysis gives insight into the issue on the input impedance and suggests a solution. Implemented in a 90-nm CMOS process, the measurement results show power gain of 13.35+/-0.55 dB, input third intercept point (IIP3) of -6.2 dBm, and noise figure of 5-6.5 dB. The silicon die with 0.22-mm active area allows the design to be adopted for highly integrated low-cost CMOS applications.

A Broadband Low Power CMOS LNA for 3.1–10.6 GHz UWB Receivers

A new approach for designing an ultra wideband (UWB) CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) is presented. The aim of this design is to achieve a low noise figure, reasonable power gain and low power consumption in 3.1-10.6 GHz. Also, the figure of merit (FOM) is significantly improved at 180nm technology compared to the other state-of-the-art designs. Improved π-network and T-network are used to obt...

A low-power CMOS LNA for ultra-wideband wireless receivers

In this paper, a low-power ultrawideband (UWB) lownoise amplifier (LNA) is proposed. Here, we propose a structure to combine the common gate with band pass filters, which can reduce parasitic capacitance of the transistor and to achieve input wideband matching. The π-section LC network technique is employed in the LNA to achieve sufficient flat gain. A bias resistor of large value is placed bet...

Title of the Paper (18pt Times New Roman, Bold)

In this paper, the significance of linearity for UWB front-end circuit is discussed. The effects of strong narrow band interferer on UWB signal are investigated. Wideband linearization techniques for UWB LNA are first proposed in this work. A high linearity UWB LNA is designed in TSMC 0.18μ CMOS process The simulation results show that the designed LNA exhibits very high IIP3 (6.9~13.8 dBm) whi...

Ultra wideband (UWB) radio communication is capable of a high data rate with low radiated power. A key issue for UWB design is LNA input/output matching over a wide bandwidth: 3 to 5GHz for the lower band and 3 to 10GHz for the entire band. Several UWB LNAs have been proposed in recent years. The UWB CMOS LNA presented in [1] employs a Chebyshev filter for input matching and a source follower f...
